Police Hunt For Chinese Murderers

Featured Replies

Police in Phnom Penh are searching for two Chinese nationals wanted for the armed robbery of the Chinese owner of a stationary shop in Por Senchey district on Sunday afternoon, as well as for the murder of a security guard and for injuring a military officer, deploying a camera-equipped drone to aid in the hunt. Colonel Yim Sarann, the district police chief, told Khmer Times that at 2pm on Sunday, two  men wearing face masks and carrying a pistol robbed a stationery shop opposite Phnom Penh International Airport owned by 54-year-old Chinese national Lou Bai Heng.

During the robbery, the suspects shot and killed a security guard and injured a member of the military before fleeing to a nearby waste-land in Choam Chao commune. “Until now, we do not know the suspects’ identities or have arrested them yet,” he said.

“Police are now still working hard and hunting for them to bring them to face legal punishment,” he said, adding that police were using a drone equipped with a camera to search the forested area the men are thought to be hiding in. Officers on the ground are going door-to-door to search local apartments, he said.
