ClareQuilty Posted November 11, 2016 Share Posted November 11, 2016 My old ~'93 Civic runs fine at idle & low speeds, but driving what I call fast - 50-80 - it has a lot of microscopic hesitations, like the fuel flow is very briefly not making it through the carburetor. I've always seen these kinds of hesitation problems in cars at low speed or idle, never at mid-throttle. Any thoughts on this? The car ran much better when I got it, but the automatic-choke went out a long time ago & I wonder if this could be related. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Has this new problem just started? Since you last problem/problems has it been okay. Or has this new problem been gradually getting worse. What tyre pressures are you using now? transam Posted November 11, 2016 Share Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) An engine/pistons PULLS benzine from the carb, that's it...But a carb must be set up right...Float level is important and a clean fuel filter.......For me I would first look at plugs and distributor... BKKdreaming Posted November 12, 2016 Share Posted November 12, 2016 an old fuel filter may be too clogged to allow the fuel you need for higher speeds , same as a fuel pump not pumping out enough volume to keep up with the revs......
