November 15, 20169 yr Flashback to August: "[ISOC Region 4 Deputy Spokesperson Colonel Yuthanam Petchmuang] also claimed the gas tank exchange program, which was introduced last year, has so far proven effective in preventing fatal explosions. Nearly 80% of metal gas tanks, which are either for sale at local stores or used by local residents at homes, have already been replaced with the composite ones." http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/937223-violence-in-deep-south-declines-by-12/ Apparently this 25-kg gas tank came from the 20% or just another failed policy?
November 15, 20169 yr Yes , the south is still, very dangerous. I am wondering what the police and military will do in about 11 more months. Boom, boom, goodbye all of you rebels and other thugs, I hope you have your escape plans all worked out. Geezer

So shall we say goodbye to the Thai military coup leadership? I doubt however that they will require escape plans ... just retirement as permanent members of the next government

Arguably the policy is working as there were no fatalities from this blast.

Arguably that the policy being that insurgent bombs must explode at least 15 meters an intended target? If the government can succeed with such a policy it should have no problem succeeding in peace talks with the insurgents.
November 16, 20169 yr Completely wild guess here, but I think there was a Mohammed involved in there somewhere.
