ITU Telecom World 2016 hopes to showcase Thailand’s readiness for new technology

 

BANGKOK, 15 November 2016 (NNT) –It's hoped that Thailand’s latest technology fair will convince the world of the country’s readiness to adopt new technological advancements. 

ACM Prajin Juntong, Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of Digital Economy and Society, said on Monday that the ministry had joined the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission in organizing ITU Telecom World 2016 as a platform for state offices, regulatory agencies, business operators, international organizations, educational institutions, the civil society and members of the public to share their experiences and seek business opportunities that will help established Thailand as a leader in the digital era embracing the economy and society. 

The DPM said that the event has been designed to showcase Thailand’s potential and readiness to welcome technological advancements that will help the country progress and are in accordance with the Thailand 4.0 policy and the digital economic and social development plan B.E. 2560-2564.

 

These policies aim to ensure that Thailand stays on the list of the world’s top 25 countries with the highest level of ongoing development and maintains the technological development infrastructure that exists among the top 35 countries of the world.
