Industry Min discusses setting up of auto & tire test center

BANGKOK, 15 November 2016 (NNT) – The Ministry of Industry has held a seminar on the establishment of the National Automobile and Tire Test Center, expecting the facility to be ready for service in 2019.

At The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam in Bangkok, Industry Minister Atchaka Sibunruang presided over a seminar for formulating a master plan for the National Automobile and Tire Test Center Project under the supervision of the Thai Industrial Standards Institute. The event was aimed to allow all related sectors to share their opinions and suggestions regarding the project in order to make improvements and ensure the test center is technologically up-to-date and meet international standards.

Ms Atchaka pointed out that the National Automobile and Tire Test Center, which will be located in Sanam Chai Khet district of Chachoengsao province, is part of the government’s Thailand 4.0 agenda. With a goal of driving the Thai automobile and tire industry towards Industry 4.0, the center will lend support to the development of the Eastern Economic Corridor, enable the country to become a car and tire production hub of the world, promote the use of Para rubber and raise the safety of road users.

The center will be primarily used for testing, certification and research purposes. Its design is expected to be finished within this year before construction begins next year. Completion is estimated for 2019.

I'll be the more impressed if they aim to raise the safety standards of road users.
