BANGKOK: -- THE SUPREME Court yesterday postponed its verdict in a defamation case against media mogul Sondhi Limthongkul and other key members of the now-defunct People’s Alliance for Democracy who accused ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his Thai Rak Thai Party of attempting to overthrow Thai democracy following the so-called “Finland Declaration”.

 

Sondhi, currently serving a 20-year sentence for fraud, and the others organised a forum titled “Finland Declaration, Thai Rak Thai’s political strategy” in May 2006 at Thammasat University.

how can a criminal fugitive sue someone in Thailand from his hiding place abroad. ridiculous!

He looks non the worse for wear from his time spent in prison. I am sure he still has access to money. When you have money you can access just about anything your little ole heart desires. I guess that is why so many of us old white guys flock to Thailand. The bird watching hoping to net a few.

What can be said to defame Thaksin? Just the stuff we know to be true is enough to make defamation impossible. By the way, I'm no fan of Sondhi either.
