PTT will establish a new company that will focus on the retail business in the face of the tough energy climate. PTT has spun off its retail business into a new subsidiary that will eventually be called PTT Oil Retail Business Co. “PTTOR will be the group’s sixth flagship business, the same as PTTEP, PTT Chemical, Thai Oil, IRPC and GPSC. The new firm will also have its own policies and more independence,” said Tevin Vongvanich, president and chief executive officer. The reorganisation is meant to establish an explicit and practical operating system and enhance the group’s competitiveness to reflect the rapid changes in the energy industry, he said.
