A 57-year-old South Korean man was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Thursday for the alleged murder in 2009 of a compatriot in Bangkok.

He was returning to Thailand to collect the body of his 26-year-old son who had committed suicide, police said yesterday.

If ever there was evidence that there is something very wrong with the whole judicial system here it is this.

Previously fled a murder charge and makes bail after being rearrested on the same charge.

Maybe they are hoping to pocket the half million baht when he skips again.

Yes. It would seem his son was the jumper as stated in the article " Supakorn said the Korean told police he had come to collect the body of his son Moon Song Jun,  who fell to his death from the 19th floor of a Yannawa condominium on November 16 "

And yes. Good work bailing somebody that has previously fled the country for the same crime. Only in Thailand does this happen. People that have been sentenced to death get bail waiting for appeal here. It is just ludicrous.

His son has just died and he returned to collect the body. He must have known the risk he was taking and still came.

Maybe his grief at the loss of his son and the need to take him home is greater than his concerns for his self.

Maybe the courts took this into account when assessing bail.

Or not. Who knows what goes through a judges mind here...
