JerryinTH
Hey, My car drivers license is from Chonburi, but unfortunately I can't figure out where to get my motorbike license in Bangkok as the official website is a bit inconclusive. Is the procedure the same as for the car license? - Med certificate - Residence certificate - Passport - Show up with own bike Then do the color, break test - watch some movie where everyone sleeps, take the theory test. Drive around in a circle and collect your license? Some advice would be great :D

Kwasaki
You can google places in Bkk where you can spend the day and get a motorcycle DL.
KhunBENQ
The procedure is the same/analog as for car license. The exact timing (necessity to make an appointment?) may depend on the office. In upcountry I had to wait 3 weeks (!) for my appointment. Long queues around the major public holidays and during school/uni holidays. The DLT site is in indeed a big mess (currently). It has been completely reorganized. All former links broken., The English language office map for Bangkok is empty The Thai version: https://www.dlt.go.th/th/bkk-office-map/ Zoom out in the Google map to see all 5 locations. Searching for a list in English.... Textual list in English, combined with the map you should be able to find the most convinient. http://driving.information.in.th/thai-dmv.html
KhunBENQ
Thai site: https://www.dlt.go.th/th/bkk-office-map/ Zoom out in the Google map to see all 5 locations. Click on a pin (location) and at the right some text information and a link appears: Show on Google Maps which leads you to a new browser tab with the map view in "full screen". Quite helpful. JerryinTH
Thanks a lot. Do I have to show up with my own bike (big bike) or do they provide some sort of scooter for the test? If I go there in the morning at 8am can I be done before lunch time or is the video like 4 hours long?
KhunBENQ
Normally you bring your own scooter and helmet. The DLT does not rent vehicles but usually there seem to be short time renters around the offices. Scooter is probably easier to handle around the pylons and on the "strip". 2 hours ago, JerryinTH said: If I go there in the morning at 8am can I be done before lunch time or is the video like 4 hours long? I can not comment on what you have to expect at your DLT. My motorcycle DL took two days. First day was physical tests at 9 AM, video and endless tutoring (two tutors all in Thai) like 10 AM to 4 PM with a break. Next day theory test in the morning before lunch. Driving test at 3 PM. DL handed over shortly before office closure at 4:30 PM. But that was at MY DLT (close to no foreigners) and not in Bangkok.

Guess I have to bite the bullet as I don't want to drive without insurance..
Kawapete
I got mine for car and motorcycle in the Mochit Land transport department. Didn't bring bike or car but had both licenses on my Danish driver licence. I had to translate my DK licence to English.Sent from my SM-G930F using Thaivisa Connect mobile app
