November 25, 20169 yr I am reading that for the forthcoming 10 year Visa one requirement will be for insurance cover for both In patient and Out patient cover. My platinum BUPA insurance only covers in patient treatment. Anyone know roughly how much extra to pay percentage wise to get coverage that includes out patient cover too? I will call BUPA when the new Visa details are fully confirmed but if anyone has some input now, gratefully received. Many thanks in advance.
November 25, 20169 yr Based on an online quote from BUPA Thailand, the cost of adding Bt35k out patient cover is approx. Bt30k, if I am reading it right. It may differ based on age and class of occupation. Bit pricey. https://www.bupa.co.th/en/individuals/health-insurance/get-quote-plan.aspx?t=&iid=1&gids=&a=63&class=1#.WDgTsK8nzIU .
November 26, 20169 yr A lot, for sure, and not worth getting if you don't have to. Nite that the new 10 year visa is a VISA, not an extension of stay. Assuming you are already in Thailand, you don't need a visa, you already entered on one and likely have been getting annual extensions of stay. While details are still unclear, so far nothing as been said that would suggest any change to the requirements for extension of stay. So you may not need to do anything, visa wise.
