Peace and Order Maintaining Joint Command advises people to pay homage to HM in the afternoon

BANGKOK, 26 November 2016 (NNT) –The Peace and Order Maintaining Joint Command has advised the public to pay homage to His Majesty the late King in the afternoon to reduce the length of waiting time. 

Peace and Order Maintaining Joint Command Deputy Governor Phongsawas Phanchit disclosed that the Joint Command is ready to accommodate people coming to pay homage to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej this weekend. 

The Peace and Order Maintaining Joint Command, has prepared venues for food, drinking water, general facilities and toilets for mourners, he said. 

The number of toilets for women has been increased in accordance with the proportion of people. However, a large number of mourners usually come in the morning and it takes time to organize them into queues. 

The Royal Household Bureau can accommodate 10,000 to 12,000 mourners in the morning and the Peace and Order Maintaining Joint Command has advised the public to come in the afternoon to reduce the length of time they will have to wait. 

Moreover, the Thai-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (Thai CC) is holding a memorial service for “The King in the Hearts of the Thai-Chinese” to express their condolences to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej on 26th November 2016 at Chinatown Gate in Bangkok. 

No less than 30,000 people of Chinese descent are expected to attend the event and the public is asked to avoid the routes nearby or travel by public transport.
