This date marks the end of the six-month period of Secret Service protection afforded to former vice presidents, a symbolic deadline that many close to her believe will coincide with a decision on her political trajectory. Though no official announcement has been made, speculation is mounting that Harris may soon launch a bid for the California governorship in 2026, with insiders suggesting an announcement could come as early as August or soon after Labor Day.

 

Sources familiar with her deliberations describe a woman engaged in deep introspection and strategy, examining the prospect of governing her home state during a time of immense fiscal and political challenges. His recent remark on The View, that he “wasn’t surprised” she lost and still believes he would have won, reportedly reignited anxieties over how to address their complicated dynamic.

 

Gavin Newsom, now in his final term, recently presented revised budget estimates that painted a sobering picture of the state’s finances. “We don’t live in Plato’s Republic,” Newsom said bluntly. Lorena Gonzalez, president of the California Labor Federation, echoed the urgency: “There’s some serious issues that California faces and will continue to face in the future, and that is being driven home more than ever because of the time we’re in.”

I don't either love or hate Harris but I think California probably deserves better than her because let's face it, she did lose and it's a consolation prize. It's too important for California for it to be like that. I don't know the other candidates but she had one necessary coronation for the democratic nomination and I think one coronation per political career is more than enough. 

 

The flip side is if she becomes governor she won't run for president in 28, and she definitely shouldn't do that again regardless.

Hard work is good work, she said this in her stump speech.

Never made sense.

Now "Good work is hard work" sounds more like it.

Maybe there is a bit of a disconnect somewhere.

This women could not manage a budget for her own campaign and wasted all of that money plus more. Do you really think she could govern a wealthy state like Ca? The people living there are already up in arms about the lack of governing that caused so much damage during the wildfires. They also saw how stupid and ignorant Harris was during her campaign to run for President. She will never win an election again and i seriously doubt any party will support her running in more politics. She is barking up the wrong tree and needs to go back to being a lawyer.

CNN have done a bang-up job in this article though. You could plausibly believe they were discussing the political future of a genuine politician, and not a sock puppet. 

Let's see if she goes through a FAIR primary. I highly doubt she can win in the higher political races.

You make excuses for something that happens yearly...the facts are the leadership used the money on something else. they made water unavailable to extinguish even the smallest fires. Their management was horrible. For your sake. I hope she does run and win in Ca. That way she can only destroy one state and not the whole country.
