Pocket wifi

Featured Replies

anyone recommendations for which pocket wifi service provider to use and if possible with 4G to watch things like netflix?

Thanks

What do you mean by "pocket wifi" ?

Are you talking about a dongle that allows a laptop (or desktop) to access the internet via a mobile data connection ?

Or a stand alone " hot spot " which broadcasts a wifi signal after connecting to a mobile data connection ?

If so, then all of the main telco's, True, AIS, TOT, and DTAC offer data only services which may or may not connect to 4G network depending upon your location

As far a Netflix per se is concerned, you could access the "Thai" version of Netflix without a VPN but if you want the full Netflix experience you will have to have a VPN which would / could  degrade the signal even more

I have seen Truemove sell a cheap 990 baht cellphone that acts as a hotspot at 711... not sure if you can use it with a cheap prepaid plan or must buy a postpaid more expensive plan?

the stand alone hotspot, I have the Thai netflix so no need for VPN

I bring my own, in so that I can utilise any of the networks.

The ones from the networks may need 'unlocking' for use with other networks. Perhaps only TRUE H are even selling them currently.
