BANGKOK: -- An individual’s expense for tourism purpose of not exceeding 15,000 baht which is incurred this year can be used as tax deductible to be reduced from taxable income, said Prime Minister’s Office Vice Minister Kobsak Phutrakul on Tuesday.

He said the cabinet on Tuesday approved the tax deductible in order to promote domestic tourism during the high season which has already started.

Together with an earlier tax deductible introduced some time ago, the total amount of tax deductible for domestic tourism purpose has increased to a maximum of 30,000 baht.

"...Tourism business for the second half of the year has been seriously affected by sharp decline of tourist arrivals from China since the government’s launch of a crackdown against zero-dollar package tours from China..."

...seriously affected by a sharp decline in zero-dollar package tours ???

Must be Thai logic !!!

From when to when - what does the Government call high season ?

Everyone knows high season always starts when the tourists come flocking in (TOT announces the figures monthly) and ends when it quietens down, TOT,s accurate figures will again reflect this, sometime in 2017

"Ho Lee Fuk, no tourist come Thailand! What we do?"

"We pay our own people about $422 USD to be tourists."

"Good idea! Where you want to go?"

I assume it deducted from your gross income and not from the amount of tax you pay
