What is the real cost of a proof of address?

Featured Replies

Hello fellows,

GoGet here with a basic enquiry:

What is the real cost of a proof of address?

Background: I am in Hua Hin at the moment. I own a motorbike. I wish to sell it.

I have the green book and passport. New owner says he needs something that shows my address (I have a new address since I have moved after I bought the motorbike).

So it's really a couple of questions:

Can I just give him a copy of my rent slip which has my name on it?

Do I really need a proof of address?

What is the real cost of a proof of address if I really need it?

What is the cheapest place to get it from?

The Hua Hin immigration sometimes try to overcharge you for stuff that should be free so if I have to go there to get the proof of address I need to know what the real cost should be and maybe have a phone number to a Bangkok superior office that I can tell them I will call if they try to overcharge me. Standard procedure haha : )

Information appreciated.

Yours truly

To sell a bike you need a Certificate of Residency supplied by the immigration, this will alsol be prof of your address .

In Pattaya its cost around B300 and is issued in around 30 minutes

I am guessing that is what the new owner is asking for, as he needs it too complete the transfer
