userabcd
Could anyone please advise if they would know how long it takes to get a COR from the Irish Embassy in Bangkok and what supporting docs are needed to apply for it. Yesterday I applied for a residence certificate from the Thai immigration but they will only mail it to me in 3 weeks, I'm thinking the Embassy route could be faster. I need the COR for a thai driving license renewal. Edited December 3, 2016 by userabcd
thequietman
I think you have up to 2 months after expiry of licence. Does that give you enough time to wait for immigration to send it out?

I'm travelling abroad next week and would like to rent a car. When I went to the licensing dept they said I could apply for the 5 year license, since it's past one year and hence my need for the residence certificate asap. I will go to the Irish embassy on Monday morning and see what can be done. If it is not possible to change my license before my departure, I will travel next week and use taxis and walk at my destination, although that is a little inconvenient. Upon my return to Thailand at the end of the year I can then change my license. Edited December 3, 2016 by userabcd
