george Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Two Russian pilots injured when airship crashes in Pattaya PATTAYA: -- Two Russian pilots were injured when an airship they commanded crashed because of turbulence. The accident happened at 10 am Tambon Nongplue of Chon Burin's Bang Lamung district. The airship belonged to Akkara Co Ltd. Damrong Somakul, managing director of the firm, said the airship was bought from Russia for Bt30 million. He said the two Russian pilots were flying the airship to a spot on Pattaya beach to take part in a show as part of the celebration of His Majesty's the King birthday Tuesday evening. He said a sudden strong wind prompted the two pilots to lose control of the airship, causing it to crash against two power poles and a coconut tree before crashing on the ground. -- The Nation 2006-12-05
Tony Clifton Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Strong wind, from outside or inside the cabin?
Mighty Mouse Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 If it crashed on Second Road nobody would have taken any notice.
