What Fish and Plants To Buy

Featured Replies

Our indoor fish tank (fresh water) has been out of use for some while.

The size is 150*59*40 (cms)

It's now been cleaned, eight air balls are along the bottom under the small stones.

The water circulates through some sort of white material then 'stones' and cone things. Think a very common system.

LED lighting in the top cover.

In the past have had guppy ...start off with a few ... change to over 100 and then all die off. Have also had small koi but the weed only lasts a few days.

Can anyone recomment what fish to get preferably ones that won't eat the plants and what plants.

Don't wish a huge budget as all will probably die anyway .... and ones that won't grow too quick ... and I don't wajt just one big fish thanks ...prefer smallish fish but not too small

Thanks ...

You will most likely be better off  with Swordtails,Platies,Mollies, available in

many colors, not expensive easy to look after, dont eat plants, if you are wanting

to grow plants, you need a layer of grave in the bottom so they can root, also good

lighting is required,  or you could just use plastic plants of different kinds and sizes,

also get a Plecostomus sucker fish to keep tank algae free, put a couple of tablespoons

of salt in the water,do regular    water changes. two don'ts, buy too many fish at a time,

start with 4-6, wait couple weeks and you can buy few more, dont overfeed.
