I am looking for a source of bone meal, blood meal, fish meal and kelp meal? Ideally in larger bags of 10kg or more.  Anyone have suggestions?

Did you follow up on my post where I replied to your same question on Farming Forum? Please let me know.  I'll be in Chiang Mai in January and on a mission to source these materials myself, so would appreciate any feedback. Preferably through the Organic sub-forum or PM. 

I sometimes look at this primarily Pets forum (which is a great resource)  but the plants discussions are minimal.  Go to Farming and the Organic subforum for most comprehensive discussions.

I never could understand why TV split the horticultural subjects like this. My suggestions to consolidate have been dissed. Farms have farm houses and families, lawns and landscapes and individual, ornamental plant issues as well as crops.  Purely residential settings have veggie gardens and issues that parallel farming needs, soil fertility, IPM, etc.  It all goes together in my opinion.

 

I'm really interested to know if you find kelp meal.  It's got to be imported, so may be quite expensive. It's one of the best sources for micro nutrients, and kelp is an iodine accumulator, all important for building healthy soil and plant resistance to disease.

 

I'm also interested to know if anyone has sourced humate ore, like leonardite from shops or from the lignite mining operations. Anyone familiar with the Mae Moh Lignite Mine in Lampang?  Humic acid products I consider one of the most important components for soil improvement projects.

 

Limasakul Chemsakate or something like that, my friend says I have the name wrong, but didn't give me the correct name.  They have a new larger shop on the outer ring road, just east of the Doi Saket Rd. Here's the info I was given:

If anyone goes there please confirm the correct name and address. And I would like to find a similar complete ag chemical/soil amendment/sprayer shop like this in Bangkok area. Anybody know one?

Their old Chiang Mai shop that I know (and was told that it is still there) is on the south side of Charoen Muang Rd (Tapae to railway station road) just east of Bumrungrat Rd (Krung Thai Bank on the corner). You will see sacks of fertilizers and sprayers displayed visible from the street. Khun Vipaporn is the English speaking woman owner. She is knowledgeable and will help you with selection of materials, calculate application rates etc. She is all business though, friendly if you are buying, but seems short on patience for a lot of questions that don't relate directly with a sale.

 

Besides chemical ferts and pesticides, they carry ag lime, gypsum, rock phosphate and other mineral amendments.

Happy New Year to all.  A little help please! I'm on a mission to find plant health care product suppliers for organic program compatible materials, in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.

What fertility and pest control products do you use and where do you get them in Thailand? Not so much for home brews, EM, bulk compost, and manures in this search, but packaged and bottled commercial products that would be OMRI listed in the US.

Neem, pyrethrins and other botanicals, organic fertilizers, biological controls, soil biology innoculants, etc. Also, sacks of soil mineral amendments, ag calcium, gypsum, etc.

I'll be going to Chatuchak market in Bangkok this Wednesday and Chiang Mai, Kamtieng etc next week.  Any tips for specific shops for me?

My goal is to consolidate some information on resources for organic gardening and farming support.

Limsakul in Doi Saket does have concentrated Kelp in liquid form.  I was also able to find Kelp powder at Northern Chemicals which is close to the Maya Mall along the highway.  They can source Azomite, Diatomaceous earth and other minerals as well.  I have not been able to find a source of Bone meal, Blood meal or Fish meal in Thailand.  I am also not able to find a source of biological soil inoculants.  Everyone sells bottles of "effective microorganisms" but what I am looking for is powdered Mycorrhizae.  There are a thousand sellers on Amazon in the US, but I can find nothing in Thailand.

My wife will have some 8oz sample packets of this product in her luggage when she returns from US in mid July. How many do you want?  They cost me about $16 each plus tax.   BioNutrients Total Pak from Growth Products. We're working on imports from this company.  

 

It's water soluble. I mix 8oz in a 50 gallon tank mix with other fertility products, to cover 1000 sq ft, about 100 sq meters. 

 

I'm sure Limsakdakul Chemi has bone meal. Talk to Khun Vipaporn the owner. she speaks English. Or walk in. Have you found the new shop and warehouse? It's on the 121 ring road.

You can buy the Mycorrhizae at Kaset University - costs 70B per kilo. Very nice people. Finding it in the uni compound is a bit of a hassle - let me know if you want to find it.

I know this post is old but the wifes family owns the bonemeal factory in Nakhon Pathom that process most of the bone from the seven provinces west of bangkok. We deliver in 50 kilo bags. 

 

We can also provide fishmeal at the moment processed by one of our partners and not by us.

 

Bloodmeal is something that is difficult to get in thailand for the reason that most of the blood from butchering is sold to restaurants that use it in cooking. I was asked by her family to help them widen their productionline 2 years ago and blood meal was one thing that we looked at.

 

We normally have Mycorrhizae aswell as azomite in stock aswell.

 

We can arrange delivery all over thailand with external shipping company but if can deliver with our own trucks if its within 300km from our factory. Delivery by pickuptruck is for 2 ton order. 7ton with 6 wheel truck or 13ton with 10wheel truck.

Good to know. Thanks for posting. These are important components for organic-program-compatible soil improvement. 

 

What about "feather meal", a good slow release nitrogen source for organic programs. Sustane 4-6-4 organic fertilizer from the US is enriched turkey feather and bedding compost, but would have to be imported unless a similar product could be made here from composted chicken feathers. 

 

Since you are offering some imported products, like Azomite, can you get "kelp meal"?  It usually from North Atlantic or Oregon USA sources and quite expensive, but excellent for micronutrients and other beneficial substances. Japanese sources may be more available and affordable than North American and European.  

 

What about raw "humate ore"? You may need to find a coal mine source for Leonardite?  The only large-sack humates product I've found is Potassium humate, but the chemical processing may render it incompatible for strict organic programs.

 

From my experience, Limsakdakul Chemi in Chiang Mai has most products that it takes to do prescription soil amendments, but they are strong on synthetic chemistry and weak on natural/organic. If you can take up the slack in making organic program materials available, I will try to send you some business.

Bioorganic additives from Switzerland

1 for soil/compost/solid manure

2 foliarspray for trees and plants

We have started doing upgrades of this old factory that we hope will be finished by the beginning of next year. When these upgrades are done we will have bloodmeal aswell. 

 

Another thing in pipeline are production of liquid compost teas suitable for fertigation.
