NCPO steps up security measures during high tourist season

BANGKOK, 7 December 2016 (NNT) – The National Council for Peace and Order is stepping up security measures during high tourist season.

Deputy NCPO spokesperson Col Sirichan Ngathong confirmed that the NCPO had assigned all security units to provide security and conveniences to tourists.

The measure is aimed to prepare Thailand for high season starting from December.

The security measures will help boost the national economy and positive image, providing tourists with a peace of mind while traveling, she said.

Yes, this is a wonderful idea. Nothing gives tourists greater peace of mind than being shadowed by armed and uniformed men everywhere they go.

these days they can afford to assign 3 soldiers to follow each tourist - 3 shifts of 8 hours each. Won't be easy to walk in walking street, though...

Peace and Order to protect tourism. lol!

Are they training the bouncers in the Phuket and Pattaya? Regulating the seaside vendors, or addressing the testosterone levels of the ladyboys on the foreshore?

Nup. Same raft of stories this season methinks.
