Art Studio Space

Featured Replies

I'm going to be moving to Pattaya from Chiang Mai in February, and I'm looking to rent a space for an art studio. It's a request incomprehensible to most of my Thai contacts down there, who have directed me to some beautiful studio apartments, but that's not quite what I want. I'm hoping for an unfurnished or minimally furnished apartment, as I will very rarely sleep or eat in it and would rather have table and floor space than a vanity, wardrobe, tv etc. Though a fridge would be nice, and water heater in bathroom, though neither is necessary. Preferably, the place is not so nice that I feel bad about making a bit of a mess, though I'm not painting like Jackson Pollock. Location isn't too important, though I will be living near the Big Buddha, so preferably not too far from there. Hoping to find something like this for under 5k a month, which should be possible as I'm renting a furnished spot for 8k right now. I'm willing to take 6 month contract if I see the right place.

Anyone have a place to suggest? Should I just ask the guys who paint those touristy paintings in the little shops when I'm back down there? Anyone know one of those artists personally?

You could ask any Thai bar girl. They usually stay in small unfurnished Apts ... but, not much natural light probably. And SMALL maybe 90 Sq meters? ... usually about 4000 a month
