webfact
Dhammachayo’s followers flock into Dhammakaya ahead of a planned raid of the temple BANGKOK: -- Followers and monks loyal to Phra Dhammachayo continue to flock into Wat Dhammakaya in droves reportedly to pray amidst unconfirmed report that officials of the Department of Special Investigation and police may search the temple to look for the embattled former abbot of the temple on Tuesday. Many passenger vans and cars were on Monday seen streaming toward the temple along the Bangchan-Nongsua road. Several roadblocks were set up along the road as police made random spot checks to look for illegal items. An informed police source pointed out that several passenger vans appeared to have operated outside their designated routes which is against the law. Police led by Gen Srivara Rangseepromnakul, the deputy national police chief, were huddled in a closed –door meeting with DSI officials headed by Pol Col Paisit Wongmuang to discuss the plan to arrest the fugitive monk. phantomfiddler
It would appear in this case that the tail is wagging the dog, totally pathetic !
Searat7
It was a huge mistake to announce advance plans by the DSI and police to raid the temple. This should have been done quietly with the results announced afterwards.

mikebell
It's been called off AGAIN to thrash out further plans. I suggest dropping 50 Pattaya Bridge players in by stealth parachute. They have experience of night escapes from places of incarceration. The abbot would come quietly if promised a slice of the bridge takings. colinneil
Here is something for the authorities to think about. Go to the temple check if some of the people there obstructing the police are government workers. Arrest them for obstruction charge them get them in court fine them. HERE IS MY POINT !!Government workers who have been convicted of any offence are liable to be dismissed from their jobs. If that was done many of dhammachayos supporters would think twice about their actions. Not only loss of face but income/pension/health care etc.
Caveat Emptor
An informed police source was quoted talking about passenger vans, off route, heading towards the temple. Given how the abbot is 'way ahead of the game how many police sources does he have informing him ?

But hey ho, maybe some of the authorities will listen to your plan.
Redline
Pathetic. They will arrest a kid for a like on Facebook, but someone that outright stole money, and is not even hiding, isn't arrested after, whatever, 1 year+ Someone has been neutered! And beginning to resemble a Thai-hijinksed version of 'Last of the Summer Wine.' Un-freaking-believable. Top-notch strategizing... on both sides of the ball. Gilligan and the Professor would both be inspired (RIP, Mr. Denver). Go get'em, you incorrigible 'former monk,' my money's on you at this point. Time for more lethal-but-heavenly microwaved popcorn...
Sig
The level of corruption in this case will obviously never be revealed, but it must have an astounding number of bank accounts involved! Anybody seen the Keystone Cops?
