Ok as an update, my DHL to US arrived on time within 3 days as advertised. I emailed DHL asking why they charged me 20% more on my Thai card than invoiced at 807THB but never heard back. I did notice that my account had been re credited the extra 20% charge about 10 days later, so perhaps it was something on the Thai banks administrative method, but I never contacted bank about this. Nevertheless very pleased with DHL coming to my doorstep to pick up and delivery 3 days later. When I check register post of same doc sent in November it still says its leaving BKK airport even today.

Just for completions sake, the original letter I posted to US by Thai registered mail actually arrived and was recorded as job done on Thai post site. Only took 50 days! Looks like DHL again next time.

 

Well just out of interest I had to mail another letter to same address in USA by Thai registered post and unlike last time when it took 50 days to arrive, this time it took only 3 days for the same price. I guess life really is a box of chocolates.

 

I think that "accept" notation is at JFK not at the destination.

 

Below the tracking on a registered letter to my U.S. bank.  Note, 12 days from Swampyboom to U.S. Customs in New York, not too fast.

 

I'm not complaining, tho, as there's a check in the letter, wanted to make sure it got to the bank.  Reckon I'll know in a day or two.
