BANGKOK — Rescue workers pulled the bodies of two more workers Sunday from a collapsed building on Soi Sukhumvit 87.

 

The retrieval at about 10am of the bodies of Boonjang Letla-ong, 46, and Phrai Kanoonrum, 38, brought the death toll to four in Friday’s accident, which saw the eight-story Thaiyarnyon Mitsu Ltd. building come down as it was being illegally demolished, according to the authorities.

So many things done here illegally, and people killed through incompetence/greed/ carelessness.

4 families now grieving for lost loved ones.

I hope that those responsible and made to pay both monetarily, and jail time.

It's not uncommon that the authorities will rule such an event as an "accident" (ref. recent crane collapse) and not hold anyone criminally liable, especially if the parties agree to a compensation plan.

I would be interested in seeing this..i personally haven't seen any such "ruling" in regards to the recent crane collapse.
