UDON THANI: -- Commandos and police arrested a crazed gunman who held his mother and wife hostage for several hours in a house in downtown Udon last night.

The drama happened after Woraphot (Tek) Kiriya, 37, assaulted his mother and wife and took them hostage earlier Monday evening at a house in Ban Jan sub-district, reports Daily News.

Finally to resolve the standoff commandos fired tear gas into the house.

The suspect was found cowering in the wardrobe of his mother's bedroom.

The two women who were both injured were taken to hospital while Woraphot was detained on charges of assault and illegal imprisonment.

He was suspected of having used a gun though this could not initially be found. Police were searching for the weapon after the drama concluded at 2.35 am.

Surely these Udon boys should be the men for Dhammachayo ?

No nonsense, straight in there.

Maybe just another case of Yabba dubba do

Crazy actions at that hour of the night usually mean alcohol, drugs or both were involved...

He was a big man with his old ma and wife but was found cowering in the wardrobe when the big boys arrived - his true colours.

I remember those extendable poles with a basket on the end with which the police could keep their distance while collecting money from misbehaving villains.

So many crazy people about.

Your not confusing the law enforcement tools with the collection box being passed threw the pews, by gods thieves, are you?

True, but what can the cops do with them? If they put every one of these drunk out of control violent Thai savages in jail there would be hundreds of thousands of them daily. Just imagine how many there are just like this jerk here from top to bottom.
