BANGKOK: -- Police have arrested a blind man in the fatally stabbing and wounding of three others after an argument over loud music in northern Bangkok.

The blind man - Narong Pholia, 37 - has represented Thailand at judo in sports for the disabled.

Friends and family of Narong have cast doubt that he was responsible and called on Pak Kret police to seek justice in the matter.

The incident occurred at the Lan Din market yesterday evening. An argument broke out over loud music being played and a total of four people were stabbed, reports Daily News.

Wutthikarn Na Songkhla, 41, the market owner, died from a stab wound on the way to hospital.

Two women are also in hospital: Prisana Manit, 39, was stabbed in the left arm. Mayura Mayuthiang,30, was stabbed in the left abdomen.

Another man is in a serious condition in Krung Thai Hospital: Anusorn Seu-trong, 28, was stabbed in the eyebrow and under the left eye. He is in ICU fighting for his life.

Earlier police had said that blind Narong had told them he lashed out indiscriminately.

Pak Kret police have commented that the case is a difficult one and there is considerable doubt as to whether the attack was deliberate or negligent in nature.

Later last night the younger sister of Narong and friends went to police to call for justice.

Sahaporn Ninmuang, 40, who is also blind, said that he had met Narong 19 years ago and he was a man of good character who never argued with anyone. He told cops that Narong had represented Thailand at the world judo championships for the disabled in Spain as well as at the FESPIC games held in Bangkok.

Narong is also a trained masseur, he said, offering the traditional Thai massage.

Late last night police said that Narong was taken under arrest to hospital in Pak Kret after paling and suffering severe stress. They are waiting until his condition improves before interviewing him further.

That would take some skill.

Is he deaf too?.......The screams of pain?...Wait...maybe he couldn't hear them over the loud music:smile:

I'll pass on the massage thanks!

Well, it's also going to be fencing for him, at the next paralympics.

Did the victims have bells round their necks ?

Wax on wax off.

A stab in the dark

So who was making the loud noise?

When i'm eating in a restaurant and a blind person comes to play 10 seconds and expects a tip i also can't appreciate it. I just want to eat relaxed, no vendors or so.

I guess one thing that makes the bib anticipate this will be a difficult case for the bib is they are having a hard time with how to describe the blind mans position in the case.  '' eye witness'' just does not seem fitting nor proper. They did not mention it may have been accidental which will muddy the water more.

This may require a second committee to advise the first one.

Another bad translation, the guy can see, he sells window blinds for a living.

I used to see him driving around On Nut in a van that said <<<<Thai language removed >>>> (a blind man is driving this van ) on the back.

English is the only acceptable language anywhere on ThaiVisa including Classifieds, except within the Thai language forum, where of course using Thai is allowed.
