By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- True Corporation will provide free Wi-Fi services for police at the head quarters and 1,482 police stations nationwide, True President and CEO Suphachai Chearavanont said Wednesday.

Supachai was speaking to reporters after signing a memorandum of understanding on the cooperation with Police Commissioner General Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda at the Royal Thai Police headquarters.

Supachai said True was willing to support police as part of the cooperation between the state and private sector under the Pracharaj scheme.

So we stay with the RTP accepting favors from big business, also meaning the possibility of or suggestion of buying a free pass, or setting up anything which even remotely looks like 'I hold your hand and you hold me hand'.

IMHO this should be totally illegal. Agencies set up with a specific role to maintain law and order, in fact all agencies set up with a specific role to aid in building and maintaining a civil society should be funded from taxpayers funds - the common wealth of Thailand, and therefore at a distance from any suggested or real collusion / favors, etc.

Well, that should save the boys a few Baht.

They won't have to use mobile data (and pay) when they spend the shift on their smartphones. Of course they will have to stay in their police stations, but I'm sure that they will cope with that.

Oh Dear, that's the last we gonna see the RTP working out on the streets of Thailand.  ?

When did the police start accepting Paypal?

Yes poster 4 nailed it. Just one more reason to see less police on the street. I mostly see one while shopping, at the bank or the gold shop.

They need it because they are not on the streets

ok and another way for hackers to access police networks.

could do some packet sniffing from across the street.

there are free and open wifi networks at police boxes on the highways for tourists.

another hacker free for all if those wifis are on police LAN's.
