webfact
Scaredy-cat dog needed some Thai mystical help Picture: Daily News BANGKOK: -- Thai social media was having a right laugh as pictures of a dog who needed some mystical help were posted online. Jao Daeng (potash) is a regular feature on the steps of a 7-11 in Sattahip but locals got concerned that all the other mutts in the neighborhood seemed to be picking on him, reports Daily News. The three year old Thai breed was always being hassled so someone has come up with a Thai style solution. They have taken a magic marker to his back and sides to draw some mystical symbols to protect him from further harm. There is also some Thai writing to aid in his protection too. Reporters from Daily News found Jao Dang quite unperturbed by all the media attention outside the convenience store in Phlu Ta Luang sub-district. Symbols of this type - known as "yan" in Thai - are often painted or tattooed on people to ward off problems or evil. Putting them on a dog is rather unusual. seahorse
It seems Thais know very little about dogs despite them being ubiquitous.
Brer Fox
He has been converted from a non-descript soi dog into a famous Thai breed, the Thai Ridgeback. Other dogs will now respect him.

Jedsada3
If they wanted to help why didn't they give the poor dog a home instead of drawing the superstitious signs on his body?

seajae
sounds as though he had inherited traits popular with thai males, needed to be in a group to get his manliness working. Edited December 22, 2016 by seajae
