Thai Woman Strangled

A Thai woman was found strangled to death with a towel in a hotel room in Battambang province’s Kamrieng district on Tuesday afternoon, according to police. Tith Kol, the deputy district police chief in charge of criminal cases, said the motive for the murder was still unclear.
 

“It happened yesterday. The woman was Thai,” he said. “It is a murder case, but the reason for the murder remains unclear and any leads to the arrest of the suspect are not yet known. It is still under investigation.”  
 

Mr. Kol said the woman had come to stay at a hotel, which also functions as a casino, the night before. “She came to rent a room to stay at the hotel and was found dead yesterday afternoon,” he said, adding that the victim’s body was returned to her family that day.
