Security forces nationwide keep crimes at bay ahead of holiday season

CHIANG MAI, 26 December 2016 (NNT) - Security patrols have taken to the streets across Thailand to prevent crimes and lower road accidents ahead of New Year celebrations.

In Chiang Mai, Provincial Police Region 5 Acting Commander Pol Maj Gen Poonsap Prasertsak deployed a troop of police officers, soldiers and local administrative officials in a campaign to keep all types of criminal activities at bay. The objective was to ensure safety for people as well as tourists in Chiang Mai during the festive period.

In Lamphun, a group of police and soldiers as well as local government officials were assigned to maintain law and order across the province. Entertainment venues and crime-prone areas will be under close surveillance and traffic on all major roads will be kept moving to accommodate tourist arrivals.

In Uthai Thani, soldiers from the 4th Infantry Division and police officers from Huai Khot Provincial Police patrolled Ban Samo Thong Hot Spring, a famous tourist site of the province, in Huai Khot district to raise tourists’ confidence in the security measures during the New Year holiday.

Thoroughly reassuring :whistling:

So the police have had their year long hibernation interrupted by the army?

We know who the priority is and its not us.

The only word that seems to jump off the pages of this post is tourist.

Shouldn't that be "security forces nationwide keeps crimes hidden from public ahead of holiday season"

Accommodate tourist arrivals to the police station to pay their fines for driving motorcycles without licenses....
