BANGKOK: -- The Nursing Council has demanded a public apology from Thai Life Insurance Public Company over an advertisement in which an insurance broker was shown kowtowing to a nurse asking her to treat a boy.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the council said that the TV commercial caused public misunderstanding, stirred up widespread criticism against public health personnel and distorted the fact about nurses, causing damage to personnel in health profession.

Nurses and midwives are duty-bound to look after the health of patients around the clock without discrimination and under all circumstances, said the council in its statement.

Nurses are the Back Bone of medical treatment in Thailand.

Some stupid commercial, will never change that.

The Commercial's director is now crying like a little girl. He should either stand up for the commercial,

or get on his knees in front of every hospital in Thailand.

Yes I have many foreign friends old guys who will attest to that. One had a knee problem and they almost had to drag him out of the shower. On a more serious note nursing and of course the female gender are the backbone of the whole country. It would be nice to see some brave enough to run in the next election (they will be scared by the stacked deck no doubt) Men have done a number on this country for decades time for the women to come out of the shadows and have their turn at bat. For the sake of disclosure and impartiality I am a man or at least was when I went to the bathroom this morning.

I have a business here , over 12 years. I have 8 employees. All are women. I would never hire a lazy Thai man.

80 % of the men are lazy.
