Members of the media and temple disciplines watch as police and administrative officials move to Dhammakaya Temple’s fifth gate to remove obstacles on public land yesterday. The operation went ahead without any incidents.

Authorities deny operation was a raid as pm urges cautious approach to avoid casualties or instability

BANGKOK: -- ABOUT 500 POLICE yesterday removed obstacles placed on public land blocking access to the controversial Dhammakaya Temple in Pathum Thani’s Klong Luang district, while temple disciples continued to enter the temple via gates five and six.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha and senior police said there would not be a raid on the temple during New Year celebrations.

Prayut said the arrest and prosecution of the fugitive former abbot Phra Dhammachayo would be conducted in due time, adding that the media and the public should not rush authorities.

Chalerm will be crying (with laughter) in his Johnnie Walker Blue. :drunk:

"...there would not be a raid on the temple during New Year celebrations...."

Seems to be another pointless exercise then - unless of course, the cops are on overtime !!!

The saga continues!   I was going to say this compares with Moses leading the Israelite's out of Egypt......but no-one seems to be going anywhere at Wats up in Dhammakaya Temple

Slightly more entertaining than the Panda channel.

The only thing missing from this soap opera is the ladyboy!

So what was the point removing obstacles if they are not doing anything yet?

More bluff and bull..t, a total inability to arrest 1 man.

These clowns are making Thailand a laughing stock around the world.

I suspect this is a cunning plan.  Usually the police/army announce in advance the time & date of their next failed attempt.  By saying they will not try to enforce the law during the holidays they may catch the abbot and his mob protectors unawares.

Can anyone post link/links for a total,so far atleast, recap of the building of the Wat,the money laundering thing, and everyting else that has manily to do whith this sekt..A easy to read recap/rteadup would be nice..and from secure sourses..well atleast as secure they come in Thailand ;-).
