National Science Technology and Innovation Policy Office supports Thailand 4.0 policy

BANGKOK, 27 December 2016 (NNT) – National Science Technology and Innovation Policy Office Secretary General Kitiphong Phromwong said that his agency had promoted four major projects in 2016 in support of the Thailand 4.0 policy.

Startup projects working through a network of 30 universities in Thailand will improve the curriculum and education quality to provide students with the skills needed in innovation, aiming to benefit at least 30,000 students nationwide.

There is also a Work-Integrated Learning: WiL program that allows students who graduated from rural schools to work in the production line of eleven participating industrial enterprises. This will effectively allocate manpower to the needs of the industrial sector, with over 300 students expected to be integrated in the program by 2017.

In addition, the office's project of predicting the supply chain of key products and technological advancements through the cooperation between the industrial and educational sectors, will help provide technological support to the industrial sector.

In 2017, the agency will be accelerating the implementation of the Food Innopolis project through the cooperation with several organizations.

Thailand 4.0? I've just checked my version and it's still 1.5 (I got it in 1985 and it still runs fine)... I suppose it's a compulsory upgrade?
