Food seller stabbed by "friend" in Ubon street attack

UBON RATCHATHANI: -- A food seller in Ubon was stabbed in the side of the head by a man who thought he had reported him to police.

 

Warinchamrap police were called to the scene of the stabbing in Saen Suk sub-district yesterday morning.

 

The victim was 24 year old Wuthikrai Janphaeng who had a stab wound under his left ear, reports Daily News.

 

His elder sister said that they ran a roadside stall opening at 6am each day. She said that a man called "Jack" who was a friend of her brother's was drinking beer with another man opposite their stall.

 

After a policeman came to order food and left her brother went to wash some glasses. Jack then came over and stabbed her brother before stealing his Honda Wave motorcycle and riding off.

 

Shortly thereafter Jack returned to cause more damage but her brother had hidden himself behind a house. Jack finally fled on the bike and is now being hunted by police.

 

The sister said that she thought the assailant mistakenly believed that her brother had called the police as she understood that Jack was involved in dealing drugs.
