January 4, 20179 yr Prayut spells out new structures for reform By WASAMON AUDJARINT THE NATION Prayut Elaborate set of agencies for reconciliation, national strategy BANGKOK: -- RECONCILIATION WILL be the junta government’s main thrust again this year, along with the national strategy and reforms, said Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday. He said reconciliation was essential to engage all sectors in steering the national strategy forward. To help illustrate the country’s direction, Prayut drew a rough chart on scrap paper demonstrating existing and new bodies that would oversee the strategy, reform and reconciliation. Exact details were not available. Government Spokesperson Lt-General Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the new, elaborate structure would help prioritise the government’s efforts in the three areas of reconciliation, national strategy and reform. The change would be in line with the government’s intention to give the public a better understanding of processes in light of the coming 20-year national strategy, Sansern added. January 4, 20179 yr I thought all the reforms were to be completed within 2 years. The lottery price being the major priority and we know how that went so well.
January 4, 20179 yr "...RECONCILIATION WILL be the junta government’s main thrust again this year..." Let us hope so, but there's going to be quite a few people scratching their heads and thinking, "...again..." !!??
January 4, 20179 yr Ah yes! The 20 year Strategy. Explained on a scrap piece of paper, with the soon formation of new bodies. More wonderfully effective committees! And keeping the military well-employed, well paid.
January 5, 20179 yr Yawn, more talk absent action. Must love to hear himself talk because nobody else is paying attention to the noise.

January 5, 20179 yr The plot in Srikcir's post unfortunately shows the "perverse inverse" relationship that is evolving in the land of the free.
January 5, 20179 yr They do not want reconciliation. They want the masses to kowtow to the ruling class' way of doing things and not have a say in how the country is run. Reconciliation means giving a forum for all to be heard, to seriously consider what they have to say and do something where warranted. Yes, even those in the North, North East and far South need to be heard. It also includes taking action against both sides of the divide without bias. To also take action against a biased judiciary, police force, etc. To not only claim that justice will be served but be seen to take action. This is not all political either. It is essential that the haves and have nots are treated equally in the eyes of the law. It is necessary that respect is won through actions, not family names and money. Etc. And then I woke up.

The Prayut government hears but does not listen. There is a difference. http://www.livestrong.com/article/83661-difference-between-hearing-listening/ As the current government has no accountability to the populace for its programs, policies and decisions, hearing is only a gratutious gesture.

Been wondering about the reforms which "Prayut drew a rough chart on scrap paper ". The people deserve better than a self appointed leader scribblings on a scrap. Though it is true WWII was won by such a scribble. The scribble also had on it "on condition that I am not interfered with by the Admiralty". Our good general is the definition of interference.

January 5, 20179 yr Doesn't he mean new bodies to make sure the new "government " will follow all of the plans that have already been made for 20 years. Quite frankly, with all this wonderful planning already done, what is the point of wasting money on elections. There's nothing left to do. ????
