BANGKOK: -- A murder hunt is underway in northern Bangkok after a man training to be a pilot was stabbed to death.

Witnesses said that Wasin Leuangjaem, 26, was grabbed from behind by a man who escaped on an accomplice's waiting motorbike. There had been a loud argument before, reports Thairath.

Khok Kram police found the victim near the end of Sakhonthasawat Soi 37 in a pool of blood with a slash wound that had reached his windpipe and a stab wound to the back.

Police are studying CCTV in the area. They know that the victim went to buy cigarettes in a convenience store then crossed the road where he was assaulted just after 10pm last night.

The assailant and his accomplice fled in the direction of Praditmanutham Road. A black crash helmet belonging to the assailant was found at the scene.

Wasin was a former employee of Bangkok Flight Services and had left to train to become a pilot. He was a student at Srinakharinwirot University before joining BFS.

Police added that the neither the victim's Toyota Yaris or the keys to te vehicle were found.

They are as yet unsure whether the motive was theft or a person conflict.

The nation is spiralling downwards into depravity and lawlessness. Nothing seems to be going right under military control. The economy is stuffed, exports are in decline, personal debt is rising, corruption is rampant, road deaths are on the increase, censorship is imposing on the freedoms of ordinary people, rice sheds are bulging with unsold rice, the election date continues to be extended and that's just for starters.

The news is all bad but government military and parliamentary personnel still  have time to do their exercises under and make media appearances to tell people all is well in the Land of Happiness.

Something is wrong somewhere!

Crash helmet should have a fair bit of DNA I hope.
