BANGKOK: -- The Constitution Drafting Committee will not rush in finishing the drafting of the charter-mandated organic laws, but will finish them within 8-month timeframe as constitutionally specified.

CDC spokesman Udom Rath-amarith said Thursday that the CDC would not rush to finish the draft of MP election bill quickly because it must wait for political parties to adjust themselves in six months’ time with new election rules as specified in the political party bill.

Also, he said the CDC would have to wait for the Election Commission to make adjustments in compliance with the new law.

Drafting of the charter-mandated organic laws within 8-month timeframe, followed by political parties to adjust themselves in six months’ time with new election rules ?

At best then elections would come in mid-2018. And if the political parties engaged in discourse  instead of adjusting (whatever that means) to the new election rules, early 2019 might become the next prediction for elections.
