NAKHON SI THAMMARAT: -- Public health experts today warned residents in six communities in flood-stricken Nakhon Si Thammarat of the dangers of the infection from contaminated water left behind by floods.

They warned residents to avoid using water for bathing or consumption, according to Associate Professor Varit Jorjit, dean of the Walailak University’s  Faculty of Public Health.

He said warning notifications have been issued to these communities of the health impacts from toxic substances left in these places by floodwater.

The six residential communities are located near the garbage dump site at Thung Lard.

They are Vajiravudh camp, Tambon Nakien, Tambon Nasai, Tambon Pakpoon, Tambon Thapae, and Nakhon Si Thammarat municipal area.
