Ministry of Commerce to establish over 12,000 more Noo Nit shops

 

BANGKOK, 11 January 2017 (NNT) – The Ministry of Commerce has resolved to add over 12,000 of its ready-made meal outlets across the nation this year. 

Following a tour of Commerce Ministry “Noo Nit” food shops, which sell ready-made meals for less than 35 baht a plate, in Soi Tiwanon 38, Deputy Minister of Commerce Sonthirat Sonthijirawong announced that his office will this year be working to aid Noo Nit program participants in reducing their capital costs by helping them to source cheaper raw materials. 

The ministry has also set policy to more widely promote Noo Nit shops and to establish the program as a trusted brand with a mobile application that will help consumers in locating branches. The program was initiated to reduce daily living costs for citizens by providing them a cheap alternative for dining. 

The Ministry of Commerce is planning to add up to 12,500 Noo Nit shops across the nation in 2017.

Another brilliant idea from those with no economics education. How many small business food carts etc will be driven out of business by this subsidized not for profit waste of taxpayers money?

What could go wrong with a military junta and centralized planning?

 

On the plus side, Article 44 can used to order people to eat at these shops.

Have you noticed how fat the Thais are becoming.its in their genes to eat 24/7 which is ok when they lived on rice and pigs ears but now it's burgers and sugar drinks they are becoming little fatties.the kids are unreal.they only have to put on 3-5 kg and they become obese.

Government owned food shops? Give them cheap food shops. Give the masses endless soaps and singing shows on TV.

Keep them quiet. Prevent social uprising. Bread and circuses, sorted.

Compared to the average Texan most Thais still look like they just escaped from a concentration camp.

I just love their numbers that they quote.12,000 shops.thats a 1,000 a month.i doubt if they could open a 1,000 bags of peanuts a month.i try not to be a Thai brasher  but they do ask for it most of the time with their numbers game.also why is it when you get a bill for say 990 baht and you give them a 1,000 baht they get the calculator out.my wife said it's because I'm farang and not trust us.i suspect it's because they are just plain thick.
