Trapped wind

Featured Replies

What is the best medicine to take for this, feeling very bloated and in pain, thought I would ask here first before a hospital visit!

If you are feeling bloated and have abdominal pain, you need to see a doctor. Cannot assume it is due to "trapped wind" which is in any case not a normal occurrence.

Could be any number of things.

Thanks just back from the hospital, x-ray and ultra sound showed severe constipation so have medicine etc to elevate that, also mentioned a small cyst on my kidney which did not require any treatment.

Once alleviated, adjust your diet so that it does n0t recur - more fiber. Oatmeal is good. Or pysillium, and/or dried prunes.

Slowly getting better, lots of wind has exited by taking the medication, is rolled wheat good for fiber?

Yes if whole wheat

Fruit like papaya, apple also good

And of course salads

Dried prunes are readily available in the supermarkets here and just a dew of them at night work wonders for most people

Oatmeal for breakfast also very good
