BANGKOK: -- Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak stated yesterday that the government was looking into providing as much as possible assistance for flood victims on top of those already being implemented.

 

As part of the plan, the general public is being motivated to make as much donations as they can possibly afford whereby they will be granted a tax rebate of 1.5 times the amount of cash donated, he said.

 

Businesses similarly will be allowed the same amount of tax rebate on total donations – cash as well as goods; but with the provision that the total amount of donations made throughout the year must not exceed 2% of their profits for the year, he said.
