BANGKOK: -- The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation today revealed that a total of 36 people have died in floodings that have devastated 12 southern provinces since early this year.

 

Director of the department Mr Chatchai Phromlert confirmed 36 have died and one was still missing in the massive flooding in the South.

 

He also said flooding has affected over  1.2 million people of 403,478 families at 5,244 villages in 119 districts of 12 province.

Seventeen government offices, 592 roads, and 106 bridges were damaged.

 

He went on saying that now the overall flood situation has eased in four provinces namely Ranong, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat.
