Ohm my God - Watt a sad story. Maybe it wasn't his volt.

Shocking indeed! The current state of society fuses desperation with the question "Wire we here"?

Right. People turn to crime when they don't have a property grounded upbringing that insulates them from the evils of the world.

We all laugh, and talk about Thai stupidity. We make humorous remarks and say 'som nom na.'  I admit that i can be one of the worst for this. But when i look further into it,this guy died through ignorance and a lack of education regarding the power that is electricity. He must have been desperate to climb a pole and cut wires that he ,obviously did not understand the consequences of ,if he made a mistake.I am not making a case for the introduction of education for thieves, but i wonder if he had a wife and kids somewhere. There seems to be so many of these criminals that are candidates for the Darwinism Award. The act that this guy performed to get money, proves what lengths he was prepared to go to,whether for drugs, booze or whatever. It goes a long way to prove that until people are made to be aware of the consequences of messing about with dangers such as these,The country will remain in the 3rd world bracket.

You are a funny lot, if it was a foreigner, especially some daft celebrity, it would be all RIP's and condolences to the family. Only an unknown Thai I suppose.

He was known. A known pain the the butt who  caused  significant damage, put people's lives in danger, was a nuisance and thought only of himself.

And you are right, but it was his ignorance, lack of education and desperation for some sort of opiate, booze or other need, that made him that way.

You've obviously never been the victim of this crime yourself, I have had my main supply-wires cut & stolen during-the-night to sell for scrap, it cost several thousand Baht to repair the damage & replace the contents of our fridge-freezers.

So no, I have little sympathy for the thief, som nam na !

But I do have some sympathy for his family, not their fault he was an incompetent thief, but they do now have to live with the consequences.

And the last word he heard was dzzzzzzzztt!

"...manage d to pull a blanket over himself..."

Where did the blanket come from? Supplied by the police and medics,

"The body was covered in black burns ..............."

Caused by the high voltage .

Sigh. It was murder clearly. You are deluded.

Probably wired on yabba.

Why do you think ratcatcher is deluded?  I see nothing in the original post that could indicate likely murder. Accidental death while stealing wire seems an obvious conclusion.  The. authorities covered his body with a blanket.

Had he been a little more positive and grounded it would not have been such  a electrifying experience.

Just read the original post and look in the picture.

If he had been electrocuted, there is no way he would have ended up covered in a blanket.

People here can be so slow sometimes.

I agree, the blanket has clearly been laid over the body, by the attending emergency-services.

Perhaps the poor bloke was trying to cut the power to the mosque whose 5am call to prayer was driving him nuts!

And maybe he was trying to get the wire to sell to feed his family. Sad

As is normal procedure by attending emergency service people  - although some people aren't aware of this normal procedure.
