KORAT: -- The operator of a bus service from Korat to Surin has been fined 20,000 baht after overloading their vehicle.

The scene was caught on a video taken by a passenger on December 30th of a daytime bus between the two north eastern cities.

Driver Than Bunhorm and his wife Jindapong, the conductress, were fined 5,000 baht for their part in the overloading. Than had his license suspended for thirty days as well, reports Thairath.

Footage had been posted on the Facebook page of Suthat Petchrot prompting the inquiry.

The Korat Land Transport department also ordered the vehicle removed from service temporarily.

They could make a fortune in Pattaya fining overloaded Baht Busses.

three to a row. More buses pls.

Somebody has not been paying the bribe.

Why only this bus??? Over loading on buses happens every day every where.

Maybe company boss ran out of envelopes.

" Jindapong, the conductress..."

sounds  just  the  ticket  to  me:thumbsup:

Dec 30....Passangers probably begged to get home

for New Year....not routinely packed in like this.

I have had to sit on the top of the motor cover in the back of a bus, hot as hell. Had to sit on a plastic chair in the isle of a bus with Somchai Shumacher  driving . Nothing like sliding around on a plastic chair with 3 legs in the isle of a bus.

Normally I pay extra for this in Bangkok.

Where does this bus line run?:cheesy:

And, this is OK then ???

Move down the back, please !!!

Good grief! Four- and five-digit fines instead of the usual three.

Just the same as in overloading mini buses, vans. It happens all the time, and is also one of the factors to the amount of accidents.

Reminds me of the trolleys in San Francisco to be honest :)  And those I had to jump on/off while they were in motion!

I used to take those buses from time to time going into Korat City. They're often packed full to the point that people in the aisle simply can't move.

That's only half full, room for 20 up top...

I have experienced this many times in Vietnam also. It's all about the money safety be damned.
