KANCHANABURI: -- About 50 officials of the National Parks, Wildlife and Plants Conservation and veterinarians were dispatched to Wat Pa Luangta Bua or Tiger Temple in Kanchanaburi to catch the remaining wild animals still remain on the temple ground.

A total of 126 animals, including 83 wild deers, 36 Eld’s deers and antlered deers and 4 barking deers are still in the temple after officials moved many tigers out of the temple to several wildlife breeding stations several months ago.

Officials said they would take a few days to catch all the animals and have them tagged, blood tested and vaccinated before they are to be sent to two breeding stations in Petchabun and Uthai Thani provinces for safe keeping.

Close down these animal parks. All poorly run. No wonder the deers bark/

All good. But what punishment will the temple, its monks and most importantly the abbot receive for running this disgusting concentration camp for wild animals? I think I already know the answer, though.

Criminal charges were laid months ago but as usual we never hear of any follow-up if any.

Glad to see God's creatures being helped and given a fighting chance. These guys in red are the unspoken heroes. My hat goes off to them.
