Heavy rains lash 5 southern provinces

BANGKOK: -- Five southern provinces of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat continue to experience heavy and very heavy rains today (Sunday) until Wednesday, the Meteorological Department reported on Sunday.

 

A combination of strong high pressure area from China which is covering Thailand and northeastern monsoon wind are blamed for causing torrential rains in the southern region.

 

The Weatherman also warned of the danger of mudslides and flash flood as well as high waves in the lower part of the Gulf of Thailand. Small boats are told not to venture out to sea during his period until Wednesday.
