BANGKOK: -- It was all smiles at the Thong Lor police station yesterday after police announced the arrest of a motorcycle taxi bag snatcher.

Prawut (An)Yoosorn, 28, was arrested in the area of the Queen Sirikit Convention Centre underground station after a number of robberies committed against tourists.

Money, two motorcycles and a Number 15 orange motorcycle jacket were taken into evidence, reports Thairath.

There had been three incidents all committed by the same man. At the end of September he robbed French woman Anne-Allison Blancho at the end of Sukhumvit 30/1 by the Philippines Embassy. She was robbed of a bag containing money and an iPhone.

The iPhone was later found dumped in Rama 4 road and was returned to its owner. The money was missing.

On the third of January in a similar case the bag of Mr Nobiro Ono, a Japanese man was stolen.

But on Thursday last at 9.40am the case was finally solved following the theft of a phone and 8,000 baht from a German woman called Oois Gresch.

The phone was found dumped in Sukhumvit Soi 26 and returned to the owner. CCTV led to the arrest of the thief.

He had been seen driving around the area then removing his jacket before committing the latest bag snatch. CCTV clearly identified him on this occasion.

Prawut told police that he was a rider in the Klong Toey area. He robbed tourists for extra income.

If it was in the day he took off his jacket when he found a victim - but at night he didn't bother to do that. He dumped the phones and other incriminating evidence so that he would not be caught, he told Thong Lor police.

Quite clever though - balancing the motorbike on top of the fridge!

I believe what appears to be her boobs, is actually her left arm (in a sling maybe).
