I'm guessing it's no longer just oil on canvas..... :bah:

So, we now know his main hobby during after office hours...

Director-general of Department of Intellectual Property?
busted with three paintings worth THB4,650 at the time of his checkout.
Money without end but not ready to pay the artist 4650 baht.
It can not be any more stupid.

It's the only Japanese pron he could find which didn't have the naughty bits blurred.

Thinks he can do in other countries what he wouldn't dare be touched for in Thailand.

How do you say "Don't you know who I am?" in Japanese?

From Einstein's theory of relativity...

Each painting can pay for two VIP sessions in a turkish bath...

That's it...for less than a Saturday night out you throw your career away.

Moron.

Wow! This has to be embarrassing for Thai officials here. And it was my understanding that the crime you commit isn't the biggest problem. It's the person who's exposing it and tarnishing Thailand's good name. Maybe a defemation suit to be filed against the Japanese hotel and police. Oh, that's right. You can only file them there when it's a lie.

Wouldn't surprise me if they did. Well, talk about doing it in the press, anyway. All bark and no bite.

Is my math wrong or is this like the value of two nights cost at a  med quality hotel?  Obviously this guy has just been a career thief and or really liked the looks of Japanese?   Wonder what the subject matter of the other two paintings is?

Just a moment of human weakness, or an instant of male brain-shutdown, so to say. no excuse but understandable. Oh  Saori Hara ... Sigh, sigh:402:

This poor sap is being memed mercilessly on Thai social media.

"Suphat actually appreciated the art so much that he decided to take it back to Thailand physically, instead of snapping photos of it, because doing so would have violated copyright laws."

Moron.

Has he thrown his career away?
Maybe a couple of months in an "inactive post" and then back to normal, albeit not dealing with anything to do with The Land of the Rising Sun!

Throw his career away? How?

Thai authorities won't even print his name let alone punish him.

"As I walk along Kyoto streets
With an independent air
You can hear the girls declare
"He must be a Millionaire."
You can hear them sigh and wish to die,
You can see them wink the other eye
I'm the man who stole the pornographic picture."

(With due respect to Fred Gilbert- lyrics )

Somehow this reminds me of another incident where a somewhat saucy painting was stolen, "The Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies". The circumstances and setting were marginally different, though.

If you think I'm speaking in riddles, google "'Allo 'Allo".

Gordon Kaye died this week
