Six staff from Acleda Bank arrested

Five Acleda Bank employees in Battambang province and another in Phnom Penh were arrested on Tuesday following a complaint from the bank, according to police and the bank president. Cheth Vanny, a deputy police chief in Battambang province, said provincial police officers cooperated with the Interior Ministry’s penal police to make the arrests.
 

“I cooperated with the penal police department of the Interior Ministry to arrest five staff according to the warrant for their appearance at the municipal court,” he said. “The other one was arrested in Phnom Penh by the department, so in total, we arrested six staff,” he added, declining further comment.
 

Another deputy provincial police chief, who declined to be named, said the five suspects were sent to the penal police department. Police identified the six as Siv Sopheak, 38, Lev Chhay, 38, Beun Samnong, 37, Chea Seila, 34, Nhoek Saran, 36, and Chhorn Tin, 38.
