School director insists screening process was done on teacher arrested on drug charges

The director of British international school of Krabi has defended that the school had properly checked the background of an American teacher arrested on drug charges in the United States and found him cleared of any criminal record.

Mrs Kwanta Sooksai, the school director, said on Friday that the screening process was undertaken when the American, Alexander Jonathan Rosen, applied for a job as English teacher at the school.

She added that Rosen also presented certifying documents from the Khuru Sapha teachers’ organization. However, she admitted that there might be a lapse of communication between US and Thai authorities when the US revoked Rosen’s passport and issued a warrant for his arrest on drug charges.

However, Mrs Kwanta assured the incident would not affect the school and parents of students still have confidence in the school.

Obviously your screening process is seriously flawed.

If you have one that is...

Yeah, right, sure they will.

School directors never lie to save face!

The education administration system is as corrupt as the RTP and that is saying something. It would a struggle to decide which lot are best at it.

No doubt the same person who did the screening is in charge of the up keep of the grounds.

what a dump this place is.

Nice little earner to be had here.

to lie or not to lie , that is the question ......................hahaha hahaha hahaha ........of course you lie that is the thai way ..........what a lying box of dumb rocks she is .

I remember my screening process. Boss looked at me from head to toe and said "You look good. I think you good".

You look good; ergo, you must be good. A flawless theory. Awfully convenient for people who are lazy and/or not qualified to be in a senior position.

Maybe she is not lying, as she is an employee with a fancy tittle. Perhaps she has been instructed what to say by the Thai owner. As regarding the state of the property, what does the relevant local authority say. " oh " sorry, forgot this is Thailand.

Another excuse for Thaivisa members to bash people less fortunate in life than themselves.

Who are the 'less fortunate people'?  The school director? These people are siphoning thousands from the school coffers.  My step-daughter was provisionally offered a job in a local school: provisional on me (ex Head of English in UK with 39 years experience) teaching part-time for free.  The following week the principal rang up to cancel as she had had a cash offer & asked if I could better it!  Needless to say it was the students who were 'the unfortunate people'; they lost out on a proper English teacher.

Most of the people on this leaflet are based in Lamphang. Of the teachers, one never taught at this school, other Farang teachers left up to two years ago.
